VISALIA, CA- ÌåÓý¾ãÀÖ²¿ is proud to announce its 2nd Annual Journey of a Farmworker Fundraising Event, set for April 10, 2025, at the beautiful Marechal Winery in Sanger, California. This special event raises critical funds to expand ÌåÓý¾ãÀÖ²¿â€™ services to individuals who do not currently qualify for existing programs. Proceeds will also support key farmworker initiatives, including Farmworker Appreciation Day and the Cosecha a Su Mesa campaign.
This year’s keynote speaker is Andres Chavez, grandson of legendary civil rights leader Cesar Chavez. As Executive Director of the National Chavez Center, Andres leads the educational arm of the Cesar Chavez Foundation, dedicated to preserving and promoting his grandfather’s legacy across the nation. He also oversees two historic properties, including La Paz in Keene, California—home to the César E. Chávez National Monument, which the NCC manages in partnership with the National Park Service.
New to this year’s event is the Cesar Chavez Art & Poetry Contest, which will be featured during the wine tasting experience. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the winning entries and engage with the artists and poets behind them. The contest includes 18 winners in two categories—Art and Poetry—with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards in Youth, High School, and Adult divisions.
